When used on a regular basis sencha green tea may help with the following beauty benefits.

Prevent and reduce acne

Apart from ingesting green tea, you can also apply topically. Use a poultice of used tea leaves to help reduce dark circles and puffiness around the eyes. Use cold tea as a face wash for skin outbreaks or acne. Make a face mask by mixing used leaves, or tea, with some raw Manuka honey and leave for 10 minutes. Make sure everything is cooled prior to use so you don't burn your skin.
When making green tea don’t use boiling water, the best temperature is just before boiling point (70ºc - 80ºc) and steep for 1 - 2 minutes. If the water is too hot you can destroy some of the beneficial compounds and subtle flavour notes. If you steep for too long, the tea can taste bitter. Use 1 heaped teaspoon per cup (250ml) of filtered water. Always keep green tea in a cool dry place away from sunlight as it is sensitive to oxidisation.

Green tea contains caffeine and compounds that can cause adverse side effects if consumed in excessive amounts. We recommend drinking no more than 2-3 cups per day for optimal health.
