Purefolk's Madame Grey tea is a softer Earl Grey with a medium-strength black tea infused with sweet orange and a light touch of bergamot. It's then blended with a flourish of toasty, nutty oolong tea and a pinch of sweet orange peel. Sometimes referred to as a Lady Grey, this is our version.
Black tea and orange have always been a harmonious pairing, and this tea does not disappoint. It has the perfect amount of astringency and sweetness, creating balance rather than competition. It's flavoursome and aromatic and is perfect for an afternoon tea or sipping around a fire during winter.
Like all Earl Grey teas, this tea is designed to be served black and is delicious both warm or chilled on ice. However, the appeal of Earl Grey tea varieties is their versatility. This version makes a great base for a variety of iced tea and cocktail recipes. It pairs wonderfully with sweet fruits and equally with cinnamon, cloves and honey.
