How to Brew Matcha

Scoop. Add 1 teaspoon (2g) of Purefolk Organic Matcha Powder to a bowl.

Add hot water (not boiling). The water should be about 80°C. For a traditional matcha (no milk) add 1/4 cup. For a Matcha Latte (with milk), add enough water to whisk and combine the matcha into a watery paste (approx. 40mls) NOTE: Using boiling water will destroy some of the antioxidant health benefits and ruin the taste of the matcha, making it bitter.

Whisk Using a bamboo whisk or milk frother, whisk briskly in a zigzag motion until frothy and combined.

For Traditional Matcha - Once whisked, transfer to a small cup or glass and serve. Sweetener optional. Try maple syrup.

For Matcha Latte - Add warm/cold milk or coconut milk. Delicious if frothed. Preferred sweetener optional (try maple syrup, its delicious). You can also add layers of coconut cream, fruit / berry purees or vanilla essence. You can get creative here.
